Army lauds Belemaoil Scholarship for Children of Fallen Heroes

As a show of appreciation for the role of the military in providing security for its smooth operation in Rivers State, indigenous oil giant, Belemaoil Producing Limited has provided 30 Flats Accommodation for the Nigerian Army.The 3-Storey Building accommodation located at the 16 Brigade Headquarters, Camp Buratai, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, covering the general area of OML-55 operated by Belemaoil in Rivers State was completed one year after the Chief of Army Staff performed the ground-breaking ceremony in March, 2018.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai
at the commissioning and handover of the 30 Units Corporal Below Quarters
commended Belemaoil for providing the accommodation for soldiers and their
families. Buratai who was represented at the occasion by the Commander,
Training and Doctrine Command at the Army Headquarters Abuja, Major General A.
A. Salihu also said the Nigerian Army is appreciative of the scholarship given
by Belemaoil to the children of deceased soldiers and those maimed in active
service in defence of the country.

In
his address, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army
Port-Harcourt (GOC), Major General Jamil Sarham also commended the Management
of Belemaoil for addressing the housing needs of soldiers.

For
his part, the Commander of 16 Brigade, Camp Buratai, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State
Brigadier General Kevin Aligbe said the 3-Storey building of 30 Flats Accommodation
would house Corporal Below officers.

The
Director, Production and Engineering of Belemaoil Producing Ltd. Engr. Mufaa Welsh
who represented the Founder/President of the company Engr. Jack-Rich Tein Jr.,
said the gesture was in appreciation of efforts of the military in securing its
oil facilities and providing security along the waterways within its operational
areas.

In
his remarks, the Bayelsa State Governor represented by the Deputy Governor,
Rear Admiral John Jonah (Rtd) said the 30 Flats Accommodation provided by
Belemaoil would enhance the quality of life of the soldiers and their families.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen on the sideline of the event commended Belemaoil for providing standard accommodation for them thereby ameliorating their housing challenges at the barrack.
